For beginning students on guitar i typically start wih Hal Leonards book 1. With about 50 pages in this book, we can go thru at a steady pace and be playing songs from the beginning. Makeing music from the very beginning is the key ! Even the simple one line practice exercizes i back up with a harmonic chordal accompaniment for a satisfying duet. Coming from a family of musicians and teachers, I seemed destined to become a music teacher. While still in high school, I started teaching guitar and bass guitar to friends and classmates.
