It's called JAM BAND. Instead of focusing on reading notes, we focus on learning chords, lead guitar, and songwriting. The same with drums! We start playing the beat at the very first lesson. The goal with this style of teaching is that you can walk into any room and jam with band, no matter what style it is, you can hop right in! Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Read More

Typically, I begin with regimented learning. For guitar students, I use Hal Leonards Guitar Method 1. For voice students, I teach basic breathing exercises and fun, sustainable and memorable warm-ups. From there, I begin to prep them for their first solo performances. I offer studio-wide performance opportunities for new and experienced students to show off their skills! As they progress, I teach to their interests and needs. Some students may be in high school prepping for Solo and Ensemble, or All-State Chorus auditions, or even college auditions. Read More

Drawing upon my education and experiences as both performer and teacher, I strive to relate my musical background to my students' learning experiences and progress. As each student comes with his or her individual musical wants and interests, student lessons are designed to meet these needs of a particular student. I have young students of ages 5 to 14 as well as students of upper ages. According to a student's level of musicianship (beginner, advanced or in between), students are taught how to read music, music theory in relation to their progress, chords, scales and how to write/compose their own songs. As previously mentioned, my teaching style first and foremost revolves around finding exactly what the student wants to learn and develop. As he or she progresses, I will set attainable goals along the way for the student to reach and therefore understand that learning any instrument is attainable through practice. I have found that one of the most important things is that my students do not lose motivation and their passion for music. Read More

Music has the power to build confidence, encourage creativity, and provide a lifelong source of fulfillment, and my goal as an educator is to help students discover that potential in a way that feels natural and motivating.
