For beginners I Use the essential elements book For intermediate students I use the Rubank intermediate method And for my advanced students I use the Abrans and Clarke method. With each lesson my goal is to the student learn a scale per lesson and a rudiment per lesson, we will also dig into the different styles and genres surrounding that specific instrument, and encourage the student to try new techniques. I use a basic book such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements or whatever material the student's band director is using. Flexibility is the key.
