My experience dates back to the tender age of 5 years old. (Piano). I started to learn then but it wasn't until I was 12 and started violin and viola that my passion for music came full circle. Recitals, concerts, weddings, and special events took place starting from age 13. I also played (still play) in church. By the time I was a junior in high school I had over 10 students while maintaining my studies in order to make them better. Read More

I believe lessons should be fun. Yes, learning music can and should be challenging. But it also needs to be fun. I am a very performance-oriented teacher. Giving students really solid practice skills they can do on their own keeps them engaged. Read More

For students who are children, I have a vareity of teaching style opportunities including the Suzuki Method, Essential Elements, Janice Rhoda's Complete Techniques, and other teaching methods. All of my students recieve education in music theory, rhythm, aural skills (voice/ear lessons), performance techniques, sight reading, and of course intrument technique. Children are very different from each other, and all of them learn in very different ways. My personal teaching style is whatever helps the student learn best. Read More

Likes, dislikes, family, favorite foods, favorite video games...they all contribute to the musician that they are, or aspire to be. Read More

When I was a young viola student I was taught using the Suzuki method. For beginner-intermediate violin/viola students I find this to be very effective, and would supplement this with a variety of technique exercises as well as something of personal interest to each student (folk style, pop, etc). After some time, when I feel a student has a solid grasp of fundamentals, I will begin to introduce appropriate solo repertoire. Read More
