I have been teaching guitar and drums since August of 2012. I started by teaching my friend's kids on the drums, ages 5 and 10. I also gave guitar lessons to adults of different ages, ranging from 20s to 80s. This includes a position as a Recreation Instructor for the City of Los Angeles. Music has been a major part of my life since I was a kid, and I would like to share this wonderful art form with anyone willing to learn. Read More

For beginning students I find it is very essential to make sure the student understands proper left hand and right hand technique before getting into the thick of theory. For beginner students who are children (or for students who are looking for a more traditional curriculum involving reading standard notation), I typically begin with Hal Leonard's Guitar Method books to develop a foundation and familiarity with reading notes and handling the instrument with correct posture and technique. For students who simply want to play the music they enjoy and prefer using tab over standard notation, I like to jump right in by learning first-position chords, which is usually followed by common finger-picking patterns/strumming patterns, and playing songs of the student's preference.
