I've been teaching in the greater Los Angeles area for almost 20 years, teaching students from ages 4 - 92 (yes, really! 92!). Levels range from beginning to professional, with advanced students having won scholarships and awards. I encourage all of my students to learn the language of music; to learn about their instrument and the best means of expression using that instrument.  For the past 8 years, lessons have been supplemented with an annual holiday recital where students have the opportunity to perform, which is an important part of the learning process! My music is an explorative collage of rhythm and harmony that incites emotion, creating a wild and memorable experience for listeners. I source inspiration from an array of influences, ranging from Miles Davis, to The Beatles. Having studied Music for almost 20 years I have always wanted to give the gift of music to others through education. After high school I became a marching band coach for 3 years assisting in teaching various sections and leadership positions. I have performed in many cities across the United States as well as internationally. I began teaching private music lessons in college in 2003. I have been teaching lessons consistently for the last 10 years from my home studio, online, as well as traveling to the students' home. I find great pleasure in hearing a student's progress, that's why I encourage recording their practice and having a consistent practice schedule. I feel it is important to give positive reinforcement and feedback to students. I am always excited to bring on new students of many different age groups! I believe it is important to keep the lesson interesting to the student by incorporating music for technique but also songs that the student enjoys playing.
