My first contact with music was during my early childhood, when I took piano, guitar and violin lessons. Growing up, I was always active playing with several youth orchestras and various ensembles, ranging from classical to popular and folk music. I studied piano and composition at the California State University, Sacramento, where I had the opportunity to study with world class musicians and be part of cutting edge orchestras and choirs; during my college years I went on several tours with a choir, performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall, N.Y I currently perform as pianist and accompanist with Opera singers from the area, and also compose upon comissions.
I had the opportunity to experience a wide range of styles as a soloist and as a member of many bands and ensembles: Classical, American Folk, mariachi, boleros, tangos--playing in many venues and contrasting scenarios around the U.S.A and foreing countries such as México and Argentina. I started teaching private students piano, violin, guitar and composition since 2008; In 2013, in California, I founded a music program, providing musical education specially to underdeserved students. I could proudly say that the program is still running and growing at a fast pace, even after I decided to move to El Paso TX. I am currently performing and teaching in the area.
The method varies according to each student. Everyone has a diffent goal in their musical journey; My main goal is to provide a well rounded and dynamic instruction, where the student will have a solid understanding of the basic pilars of music: ear training, technique and reading skills; this will redund in quality performance. my students will learn to play both, by ear and by reading.
My lessons are practical and commonsensical, making music playing fun and exciting. I expect my students to enjoy their music, wich will reflect in their performance.
