I am a passionate musician with a vast array of musical experience and background to share with all. I graduate from Jackson State University with a degree in music and immediately began touring with Major Label artist and performing professionally at an early age. I am a member of The Grammy's and working/ touring with Grammy Award-Winning Multiplatinum artist as well as other artist within the music industry. I have won numerous awards as a music director as well musician working with performing ensembles throughout the state of Georgia and beyond.
My teaching experience is extremely broad and deep as I have had the pleasure of being a music director for many performing ensembles throughout Georgia and have won numerous top honors and awards at competitions and festival showcases throughout the country. Simultaneously as a live performing musician I was directing students in a broad genre of music since the inception of my career and these groups would perform as individual solo artist or as a full ensemble and have a great experience earning top honors and awards at all presentations. I am always looking forward to working with new students and taking them to the next level!
For brand new students, I usually like to do an assessment of where they are starting in order to recommend the best method books to use that way there is no fear of being overwhelmed in the process of developing. Fundamental techniques are also used in order to gauge what direction to go as the instruction proceeds. For non beginners, I make the adjustment according to goals and desires so that the lessons are also engaging and fun regardless of age or ability. Keeping in ming that moving forward and forward progressions in a great goal to have in reaching the next level.
My passion for music is felt in my teaching style and is one of the leading elements in how I teach. I want every student to feel the same passion in their learning experience as they progress with their goals and strive to get to the next level. I like that students progress at a pace that is conducive for them and support the growth and development in a fashion that is encouraging and promotes steady progress and goal achievement. I also motivate with my passion for music in a teaching manner that allows the learning to be fun and enjoyable for all.
