Overview:
I am a graduate from SAE institute with an A.A.S Degree in Sound Audio Engineer, which also qualify me to teach DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software like Protools, Ableton and more. I enjoy playing my Bass guitar, but my first love i think is playing drums. I have been playing trumpet in Jr. High received honor and was recruited to Collins High in 1977 which I later transferred to Manley high to play in the Jazz band there. O'Quinn Drum and Bugle Corp in the early 70's and was teaching the Drum line in the late 70's early 80's. I have played in many DCI competitions around the world.
EXPERIENCE
I enjoy teaching music, I enjoy of passion of putting music composition together and vocal training. My passion is for Drums, but i started playing bass at the age of 14, I also have been singing most of my life since I can remember. My brother- in law you to play drums in the late 60's through the early 80's for the group called the steeler which he taught me tp play drums. I love singing and teaching music any chance i get to do so. I have been play piano for 11 year, drums for over 40 years, trumpet over 40 years vocals over 32 years.
METHODS USED
I normally create a lesson plan that develop the student skills yet keep them interested in wanting to learn more about music not just a whole lot of theory. I also believe, the best way is hands on work. (Practical learning) I keep the lesson interesting and the syllabus simple for learn whatever it is I'm teaching with homework for practice. I enjoy creating lesson plans that I read from other books and use the books to help demonstrate and support the lesson I'm teaching. and to follow the guidelines for teaching.
LESSON STYLE
Basically I start with questions on why the individual wants to learn how to play that particular instrument. Then I follow with how much do they know about the instrument of their choice. So following a brief historical lesson we get into how to start playing that instrument. Also why I love to play that instrument and why I'm playing it with passion. I start teaching with basic scales or vocal warm-ups. I never want to rush the development process of the student because I want threm to get the lesson in itself.
