Awards:
2013- ESP Bass Guitar Scholarship Musician's Institute of Hollywood 2016- Performed with Silverfox Lane on National Tour
Overview:
I started playing when I was 13 and have mastered several instruments since. My forte is electric bass guitar, although I can also teach electric guitar to an advanced level. I moved to LA to go to a very prestigious music school, Musicians Institute of Hollywood. I studied in the bass guitar program winning the top bass scholarship that is given out at the school, earning my A.A. I have played with many bands, and have recorded in famous Los Angeles recording studios, and I have also toured the country.
EXPERIENCE
While living in Los Angeles and attending music school I was also teaching bass guitar part time. This was my first time teaching for money although I have been helping many musicians around me since I was young. I have a lot of experience with studio sessions, which requires learning the music and being able to improvise on the fly, while recording. This requires full knowledge of the instrument. I can cover many genres and teach you the basic fundamentals of these genres and proceed to teach you advanced techniques that will give you your own style.
METHODS USED
I will start with basic books that teach you the bare fundamentals of music, the notes, fingering, etc. If you already know the basics we will go into a more advanced teaching plan. Depending on your skill level and what you want to accomplish in terms of style and technique I will base my lesson plan accordingly. I will base what I teach you according to your musical influences, passions, styles you want to learn, and who you would like to become as a musician overall. Everyone is different so it all depends on the individual.
LESSON STYLE
I will study where you are at, whether it be beginner, advanced or anywhere in between and then I will help you develop your skill set further. One of the most important aspects of learning an instrument is practices on your own. Once you learn the lesson of the session, you will be able to take that home and memorize it for the next session. This way you will be getting the most out of each session, learning something new every time. I want you to feel like you're moving ahead each week. This will keep you engaged and it will keep your passion for the instrument strong.
