Hi! I am an Opera Singer from Bolivia. I moves to the U.S 5 years ago and graduated from the Manhattan school of music with a BM in Vocal Performance. I am currently pursuing a MM in Opera. I love working with kids of all ages and adults who love to sing. I love singing jazz and pop although I mainly perform Classical Music. My most recent performance was my solo debut at Carnegie Hall in NYC. I've worked with musicians and world class instructors from all over the globe. Besides music I have a passion for baking and people (I love meeting new people and learning about them and where they come from). I believe wholeheartedly that music is a tool that can bring the world together.
I've been teaching for over 7 years. In Bolivia I directed a children's chorus and a high school chorus. Besides teaching music I also tutored kids in various academic subjects and taught dance classes. I've taught private lessons in the U.S and prepared my students for performances, auditions and just for some home Holiday caroling! I've been teaching private lessons for about 5 years and have had students of all ages from 3-80+. I love getting to know what my students love to sing and always make sure they are enjoying what they are doing. It is important to me that my students know how to take care of their voice and stay healthy.
For beginning students it is most important to me to help them build a habit of "how to practice" to keep their voice healthy. Secondly, I give them individual exercises and short music excerpts that they enjoy and we can learn together. It is important to slowly introduce music that is a little more challenging and that will keep them engaged and knowing of their improvements. For adults, I want to know what they are interested in and how I can help them. I guide them primarily with healthy technique that can help their needs and review with them the music that they want to learn.
It is so important for my students to know that I am here to help them and that they have their own individual path. It is not about improving quickly but really understanding and loving what they are doing. I try to find ways to inspire my students so that the whole lesson is productive and fun. I love sharing my love for music and inspiring my students to know the power that music holds. Whether they are children who are just curious or if I'm working with an advanced musician, I adjust easily to their needs and what them to find their voice.
