I’m a creative individual who has always been passionate about music. I started with piano at age 4 and studied violin in college. I was the concertmaster of my University’s Symphony Orchestra and received music scholarships every semester. I currently perform around Los Angeles as a singer/songwriter. I love helping people discover their confidence and learn music!
I attended a music magnet elementary school and have been a participant in honor orchestras, all state orchestras, and many chamber groups. I have a lot of performance experience and currently enjoy songwriting.
In college, I taught a handful of beginning violin students. Throughout college and my years post grad, I’ve taught private and group dance lessons and focus on technique and confidence. I apply the same concepts to my music lessons and love helping students discover their personal voice. I encourage regular practice and personal compositions. Every student is different and I am hopeful to find the system that works for each one. I don’t believe in one size fits all when it comes to learning. I’m excited to help every student find their joy!
For beginning piano students, I love using Alfred lesson books. I like focusing on scales and using proper technique. For violin, I like using Suzuki, but I don’t use Suzuki method. Focus is on scales and simple solo rep. I encourage composition at all ages and love finding a system that works for the individual student. Regular practice is encouraged. I am big on positive reinforcement and will be my students biggest cheerleader, even when I need to get firm about techniques. I create custom plans and will find the theory methods that work best for each student.
Everyone has a different journey when it comes to learning and loving music. I am passionate about helping a student find their way to loving music while learning basic technique and theory. My main focus is on creating a safe environment for a student to make mistakes and be comfortable learning. Throughout my years as a student, I’ve had many different teachers. I hope to be a teacher that is loving and kind while also teaching great techniques and theory. I want a student to be inspired to learn more and keep playing.
