Milford Music School
My love for music dates back to my childhood. My parents bought me my first drum set when I was in elementary school. I kept on playing and eventually ended up in my junior high school jazz band. I have played with numerous bands throughout my career. My love of music has always been a driving force in my life. I want to teach as many people as I can that they can express themselves musically. Believing in the music has been a platform that has brought me to amazing people and places all around the world.
My teaching experience was for many years with a local business called Milford School Of Music and Music Center. I taught there for 10 years. Since then, I have been doing independent lessons with students who have heard about me through Milford Music, and I have been working on my own music for a long time in my home studio. I studied at The Recording Workshop in Ohio, I worked with numerous bands and one band went to Denmark to record an album. I want to teach my students to play with originality instead of trying to play like everyone else does. If they have a unique style, then they should play with originality.
My methods have broad diversity based on the student. I will show then sheet music, and others I will play different styles of music to show how people play different patterns. It depends on their level of experience. I am willing to take it to the next level to help them recognize their own potential instead of making them feel like playing and practicing is a chore. No two students are alike. I feel my teaching methods stand out because I try to help each student individually instead of only teaching one way.
My teaching style is fueled by my passion for music and I hope it ignites my students to develop a passion for music too. My lessons require a combined effort on the teacher and student's part. I will work with each student independently until they feel comfortable with the material that have learned. The duration of the lesson is up to the student. I am willing to work with my students to help them feel achieve this goal. I want this to be a positive experience for my students and hopefully it will inspire them to excel and maybe even recommend their friends.
