Overview:
I have been playing and studying guitar for 23 years and teaching for 5 years. The online courses I am currently taking are the first formal lessons of my life. I think this has given me a really patient teaching style that involves no stress. I have used various tools such as books and videos. Hundreds of which I still use today. I continue to learn as a musician every time I play.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching guitar for five years. I started off teaching my brother and then some friends. This gave me a chance to gain experience in a stress free environment. I teach most styles of guitar including rock, blues and anything for beginners. I specialize in all areas of metal guitar. I know how hard it can be as a beginner or an experienced musician to reach that next level of playing. It is very rewarding to help a student achieve any number of personal goals.
METHODS USED
When teaching, I like to get to know just what my student is looking to achieve with these lessons. I include various handouts for the current lesson as well as next weeks lesson. It all depends on your level of playing. For beginners, I like to get you going on a number of finger exercises for both the right and left hands as well as an introduction to various simple chords that will allow you to start playing the basics quickly. For more advanced players, I will expand on a number of chord variations, picking and fingerboard speed techniques, songs, creating guitar solos using various scales in any key and so on.
LESSON STYLE
In all of my years of learning and growing as a teacher, it has always been fun, exciting, and rewarding. My approach is simple. Give me a chance to show you a few things and see if this experience is fun, informing, and exciting for you as well. Learning is the ultimate goal and sure it takes a lot of practice. I will always be patient and do whatever I can with your personal goals in mind. Remember. This will always be a stress free experience.
