I am a motivated and dedicated instructor and performer who enjoys sharing music with others, and helping those with the desire to learn. I am currently attending Christopher Newport University where I am pursuing degrees in Music Education and Percussion Performance. I have performed nationally and internationally with a variety of ensembles, and I've had the opportunity to perform in some of the world's most prestigious venues, including Avery Fischer Hall in New York City.
I first started teaching in high school, as a section leader in my marching band. I fell in love with teaching, and decided to take it to the next level. I have been student teaching in the public system for 4 years, and privately for 5.
My methods vary depending on what your concentration will be; Drum set - Orchestral percussion - Mallet percussion
I am a very strong believer in hands-on teaching. We will always warm up at the beginning of a lesson, and work on technique and basics. After, depending on your concentration and skill level, we could work on expanding your repertoire, or learning new grooves and rhythms.
