I love working with students and try to get them to learn as much as they can about the guitar or bass guitar. I teach all ages from ages 9 through 45 and I love working with them. I have been playing bass guitar for 12 years and guitar for 10 years and I practice everyday. I started out taking bass guitar lessons and eventually started playing in bands as a bassist and taught many students around the world. I usually teach online guitar or bass guitar lessons. I did take a couple college classes in music and learned a lot.
I started teaching guitar by making videos early 2021 and then I started teaching classes on takelessons.com. I have been teaching classes and students ever since then. I created a guitar course with takelessons.com and you can see it on takelessons live. I also made a practice guitar course onthinkific.com on guitar chords and guitar chord theory. I enjoy helping students learn how to play guitar or bass guitar. I even know a good amount of music theory to teach some music theory. My main priority is making sure the student learns as much as possible.
I actually have my own teaching method mixed in with the way I learned how to play guitar. I learned by learning basic scales and chord shapes. I try to be as interseting as possible so the student does not lose interest in playing. If the student has any questions. I make sure it is taken care of right away during the lesson. I assign homework and you are expected to practice atleast once a week or learning guitar will be harder and more frustrerating. I have work sheets that I made up myself along with good practice tequniques.
For absolute beginners I make sure that they know the guitar strings and make sure they get to know the fretboard by learning the pentatonic scales and basic chord shapes. First we will learn what an octave is and where they are on the fretboard. After we learn octaves we learn the scales and the notes on the high and low E string. After that we start with our sharps and flats. As we are doing this I will get to know the student and I will start learning what kind of music they like so we can eventually learn songs.
