Overview:
I have been passionate about the guitar for most of my life and feel a great sense of joy and accomplishment passing my knowledge and experience on to students who are excited about beginning this amazing journey into the vast world of music. I am honored when students choose me to guide them along the path toward their goals. I have been in many bands over the past 15 years, covering an array of musical stylings. I am currently filling the role of David Gilmour in a popular Pink Floyd Tribute Band.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching the guitar for over 5 years with students ranging in age from 3 to 40+. The majority of my lessons have taken place in the students' homes, but I am fully equipped to provide high quality lessons over Skype and FaceTime. I've had a high level of success with my teaching method, motivating students to progress at a rapid pace while enjoying the process. I am always striving to improve and expand upon my teaching methods and encourage feedback from students.
METHODS USED
My lessons are tailored to the individual student. I will ask you what types of music interest you, what you expect to get from the lessons and the guitar in general, and construct a lesson plan just for you. I focus on "practical application", meaning I don't clutter your notebook with sheet music and boring terms to memorize. I will teach you how to play the guitar like your heroes using simple building blocks that will keep lessons fun and interesting and show results from day one. You will develop by learning the songs YOU want to learn.
LESSON STYLE
You can expect my lessons to be fun and casual. My goal is to keep you interested, motivated, and excited about learning the guitar. There will be no stiff, boring repetition drills or endless scales to perfect. My lessons are meant to teach you new material, offer insight, correct technique, answer questions, and encourage progress. Your job as a student is to take the information learned during each lesson and "practice, practice, practice" during the week.
