Overview:
I am a hardworking and passionate instructor who loves teaching students of all ages! I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2017 with a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in Interdisciplinary Music Studies. At Berklee I focused on Guitar, Songwriting and Composition, Film Scoring, Music Theory, and Music Business. Guitar has been my biggest passion since day one. I love performing live and writing my own music. My songs have been featured on 95.5 KLOS and I was recently interviewed by Nikki Sixx on his radio show: Sixx Sense.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching music for about 4 years now. I have taught guitar at the top music schools in Huntington Beach and Burbank CA. I have worked with students as young as 4 and 5 years old. I use a unique approach that combines rhythm and chord recognition with the essence of fun and motor skills. My older students learn all their favorite songs from Pop to Jazz to Rock, while we focus on the importance of memorization and ear training. I love teaching others the joys of music, and I want my students to leave their lessons excited and happy to play the guitar!
METHODS USED
Beginning students I will start off with songs they already love and enjoy. I believe there is a certain energy and passion in learning your favorite songs. And I encourage every student to learn the songs they enjoy. I work with a method that takes both beginner and advanced students through each piece of their favorite song. While focusing on customized goal setting for each student. I work diligently to prepare my students for the future, should they want to join a band or write music on their own.
LESSON STYLE
I love seeing my students grow over the course of our lessons. Students will recognize improvement after only a few weeks of learning guitar. I enjoy working with positive reinforcement, encouragement, and the concept of working towards a goal. Students will learn to recognize the rewards of achieving their goals and how to create new goals on their own. I care for each of my students and love to see their joy when they get to play along with the songs they love. I enjoy seeing the love for guitar in each of my students and I am inspired to teach and share guitar with as many students as I can!
