Overview:
I am a energetic, dedicated, warm and caring music instructor who is eager to share over 16 years of musical knowledge with students. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Professional Music,I was previously educated in European School of Music, where I studied classical piano and opera singing for 10 years. At 17 years old I auditioned for Berklee College of Music and received a Tuition Scholarship to attend their Bachelor's Degree Program. Since then I've had the opportunity to perform at over 40 Berklee events, such as presentations, clinics, Berklee Performance Center concerts, commencement ceremonies. I've shared the stage with musical legends such as Jimmy Page, Valerie Simpson, Tower of Power, Siedah Garret, Patti Austin, Lenny Pickett (musical director of Saturday Night Live band since 1985).
EXPERIENCE
I first started teaching when my piano teacher assigned me to be her assistant back in 2009, I provided her 7-28 year old students with singing lessons. As I proven myself to be an accomplished instructor I received a job as Choir Instructor at School of Music 'Vladimir Djordjevic', where I worked for 1 year before heading to Boston to start my studies at Berklee. In 2010 I started teaching private lessons part time in my home studio, where I conducted voice, piano, music theory, and solfeggio lessons to a total of 16 students, who showed incredible improvements over all 4 years that they stayed under my instruction.
METHODS USED
For all my students I design a fun atmosphere where they feel comfortable, stimulated and encouraged to absorb musical knowledge. Depending on their musical backgrounds and their ability I discuss with my students and their parents(depending on student's age) what is their primary goal to achieve during the lesson, what style they want to concentrate on. When we get to know each other I assign my student with Vaccai classical tune (practices vocal technique) and two songs in style preferred, when a student learns and masters these we move on, with more difficult tunes each time. Before we start with tunes, we first warm up with breathing and great vocal exercises I create for my students depending on what they need to improve.
LESSON STYLE
Music is beautiful and mysterious, mostly everyone enjoys listening to it.I believe that people who want to study about music and perform it are touched by it and drawn to want to express themselves through this form of art. That's why I get exited over and over again with every new student I get to help to understand music and learn how to make others enjoy while listening to him/her. I think it's important to let students follow their interests. I don't use any fear tactics to make my students practice, instead I focus on engaging them with the material and exiting them about the result of sounding beautiful with ease.
