I have over 10 years of live music performance with a variety of groups and ensembles, I have performed all over the world and I want to pass on my knowledge and experience to perspective students. I love music and truly believe everybody should have the opportunity to learn an instrument as the rewards are simply amazing. In my career to date I have performed on Cruise Lines, in Theatres and Arena's and in clubs playing all kinds of music. I love all styles and hope to pass on my love for music to my students.
I have taught privately on and off for 5 years now and I have taught all levels and at a variety of ages. No student is the same so in the past I have set out a path for each student dependent on what they want out of music and what interests they have. I believe in making lessons fun but at the same time I want my students to really go away from each lesson feeling inspired to practice and feeling like their time with me was well spent and they learned a lot.
For all students it is essential that they grasp the fundamentals, doing this well be invaluable in the future and so ensuring correct technique, solid time and feel are important to me. With all students I want them to have fun whilst learning so finding out what music interests them is important as lessons can be centred around what they like. No matter the age or ability the emphasis on learning whilst enjoying is key.
I believe in encouraging my students and supporting them, having them reach acheviable goals and having them work at a pace that is realistic I believe will develop their understanding and love for music. By combining a students interest with essential fundamentals of music I have found that my previous students have advanced their playing whilst denjoying the experience. When passing on my love for music I like to play a piece of music to my students and try to convey why this music is important to me and I like to hear pieces that my students love so I can see where they are coming from.
