Greetings! I'm a longtime Chicago Area resident with a deep passion for music that has been with me since childhood. My musical journey began at the age of 9 when I embarked on private lessons, setting the stage for a lifetime dedicated to the art of sound. During my formative years, I had the privilege of studying at the renowned Old Town School of Folk Music from ages 10 to 13, immersing myself in the rich tapestry of folk traditions. Later, I honed my skills under the guidance of Gary Gobel from the Northwestern University Orchestra, a mentor whose influence left an indelible mark on my musical development from ages 14 to 18. My pursuit of musical excellence led me to the Chicago Musical College, where I furthered my education and mastery of the craft. Following my studies, I had the incredible opportunity to learn from Joseph Golan at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, an experience that deepened my understanding of orchestral dynamics and performance. For four years, I proudly lent my talents to the Chicago Civic Orchestra as a violinist, contributing to the vibrant cultural tapestry of our city. However, my musical journey didn't stop there. I ventured into the realm of rock music, playing alongside numerous bands and sharing the stage with iconic acts such as Thompson Twins, New Order, and Roxy Music. Fuelled by a relentless passion for creativity, I co-founded the band "Master Plan," leaving our musical imprint on stages across the country. You can still find traces of our musical legacy on platforms like YouTube, a testament to the enduring power of our collective artistry. My musical repertoire extends beyond the violin, encompassing proficiency in guitar and harmonica. Over the years, I've also dabbled in music production, lending my expertise to numerous well-known projects, each one a testament to my commitment to sonic innovation. In my spare time, I offer my services for private events, sharing the gift of music with those seeking to elevate their special occasions. Additionally, I devote my volunteer hours to teaching private lessons, passing on the knowledge and passion that have fueled my own musical journey. When I'm not immersed in the world of music, composing new songs for "Master Plan", serenading friends with impromptu jam sessions, or soaking up the sun on the open waters during summer boating excursions. Music isn't just what I do—it's who I am. And I'm thrilled to continue sharing my musical journey with fellow enthusiasts, students, and audiences alike. Let's make some beautiful music together!

Through a combination of personalized instruction, hands-on learning, varied resources, group collaboration, and performance-based opportunities, I strive to create a dynamic and enriching learning environment where students can unlock their full potential and embark on a fulfilling musical journey.
As a music teacher, my primary focus is on facilitating the progress and growth of my students. I firmly believe that every individual learns differently, and it's my responsibility to adapt my teaching style to meet the unique needs of each student. One of the key aspects of my teaching philosophy is the importance of observation and assessment. By closely observing my students, I can gauge their learning styles, preferences, and areas where they may need additional support. Some students thrive with a hands-on approach, where they can actively engage with the material through practical exercises and demonstrations. For these students, I provide plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning experiences, such as guided practice sessions and interactive activities. On the other hand, I recognize that some students require space and autonomy to learn effectively. For these individuals, I adopt a more hands-off approach, providing guidance and support when needed but also allowing them the freedom to explore and discover concepts at their own pace. This approach fosters independence and self-directed learning, empowering students to take ownership of their musical journey. Additionally, I understand that traditional teaching methods may not be suitable for every student. Some individuals may benefit more from utilizing books, training materials, or other resources to supplement their learning. In such cases, I make sure to incorporate a variety of teaching resources and materials to accommodate different learning preferences and enhance the learning experience. Overall, my teaching style is characterized by flexibility, adaptability, and a strong focus on student-centered learning. By recognizing and responding to the diverse needs of my students, I strive to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every individual can thrive and reach their full potential in music.
