I started teaching a few years back and it has given me a huge amount of satisfaction and joy. Most of the time students have a certain goal that they want to achieve and often it can almost seem like it's unattainable because of where they currently are, or how hard it seems to accomplish. I get so much joy from showing them exactly what they need to work on and giving them the confidence to keep pushing towards their goal. I enjoy watching students progress faster then what they even thought was possible.

I like to see where the student is currently at with their playing and what their specific goals are. For new players I try to keep the lessons fun and engaging. I've met a lot of people over the years who started to learn the guitar but, gave it up because they lost interest or didn't think they were making progress. When students start to progress and are more committed, I step up the goals and try to bring as much value to the lessons as I possibly can. For advanced students who want to play professionally, I will give them all of my acquired knowledge and get into advanced reading, improvising, and arranging.
