I'm a talented and insightful instructor who loves the chance to work with students of any age and any level. I specialize in teaching guitar and piano and have been playing for just about 20 years. I got an early start into music at the age of 13 because of my musical family/heritage. That helped get me on stage at the age of 14, leading me to perform tons of gigs and shows throughout my life. I also teach accompanied vocal lessons, accompanied songwriting lessons, bass guitar, and drums. (Currently no drum set in my home studio & I only teach bass guitar to students who are already proficient on guitar.)
I have had the opportunity to teach many students over the years and my love for teaching continues to grow. Encouraging regular practicing plays a big role in students developing their skills to the next level. More than everything, I’ve found that the more desire the student has to learn, the more successful they will be in following through with learning a musical instrument and becoming proficient at it. As a teacher, I’m there to help and guide them to become a musician. Music is a gift from God and I love being an instructor.
Upon my 1st meeting with a student, I attempt to identify the strengths and desires within as to gain insight on how my methods will differ with them individually. As I’ve already stated, desire says a lot and students go far just based upon that. Among the many methods I use, guitar tabs or sheet music, alphabetical memorization for chords, and personalized study guides are among the many that I use in teaching my students. I have a heart of compassion when it comes to teaching my students. I will forever remember the times of my own triumphs as I was a beginner in learning an instrument. I keep in mind that every student has a different way that will work best for them as an individual and use my insight to give them personalized lesson plans that ensure. Student’s inspirations play a vital role in giving them the drive and ambition to learn more and makes them more and more eager to be all they can be. Setting goals and working towards success is what it’s all about when I work with a student.
