Overview:
Hello, my name is Tyreese. I’m a graduate of Lake Forest High School (2006) and Delaware State University (2015) with a degree in Music Performance. I’m highly-motivated and energetic individual who has 12+ years of experience in music lessons impartation. I have had the opportunity to participate in several ensembles such as, various marching bands, concert bands, woodwind quintets, and jazz ensembles. I have experience with solo work as well. I was hired to perform with a professional Orchestra for high school and college as well. I had the privilege to perform in pit orchestras for school musicals in high school and college. My strong communication skills suited for diverse groups of musical learners. I’m competent in playing a wide range of musical instruments. I am enthusiastic and thrive to transmit the passion of music to my students. Tutored primarily flute, clarinet, saxophone etc., (all woodwind instruments). Music is a challenging and fulfilling intellectual, physical, and emotional journey. It gives students opportunities for personal, moral, and social growth in addition to the basic skills of music instruction. Creating meaningful musical experiences gives students opportunities to grow and explore music in ways they would not on their own. I will always go above and beyond to make sure students succeed by offering extra opportunities that will stretch and motivate students.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience dates back to 1998. I started teaching private lessons 15 years ago. I began teaching lessons to elementary and middle school students while I was in high school. I continued to teach private lessons after I graduated from high school. I continued giving lessons all through college and even after I graduated. Staying motivated is the key to your success. I stress this key concept to all of my students. You have be dedicated to your craft. My students will learn the basic fundamentals of music.

For beginning students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 1 by Bruce Pearson. For intermediate students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 2, and for the advanced students, I use the Standard of Excellence book 3. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
