I graduated from Berklee College of Music's Master Program of Scoring for Film,Tv and Video Games in 2013. I was the only student that managed to be accepted with a scholarship without previously owning a Bachelor Degree, mostly due to my portfolio and to my previous experience as a musician. I am also a passionate guitarist and I have been teaching guitar during the last 12 years. I performed in many stadiums in Greece with different rock bands as the lead guitarist.
My first year as a guitar teacher was back in 2003. Even though I was relatively young to teach, I had my own students coming in my newly created studio in Athens and I was sharing my enthusiasm with them as I was watching them being developed into experienced guitarists. I always loved Rock and Blues and, even though I received many lessons from amazing Jazz guitarists, I couldn't help but focus on these two styles. I also loved Classical Music and I included many influences both in my teaching methods and my performing style. Even now, after 13 years of teaching, I have the same enthusiasm when it comes to sharing my knowledge with a new student!
My teaching methods vary according to the level of the student and the style that he/she wants to play. I have different books for studetns that would like to focus on being blues guitarists or rock guitarists. From the moment that the student will achieve a satisfactory progress about understanding the basics of the guitar, we will add songs that will he/she like to play, according to his/her level.
One of the most critical things about being a musician is the joy of performing. In order to reach this level, a student has to try a lot but also he/she has to enjoy the process. Achieving this balance is the key for every lesson and this is my priority. Setting micro-goals is essential for that and keeps the student motivated.
