I am a pianist, vocalist, and composer who originally hails from Washington, D.C. I have been teaching and performing for over 10 years and I continue to seek out new and exciting musical opportunites. Versed in a variety of styles: jazz, classical, blues, rock, funk, and gospel, I have performed in venues up and down the Eastern seaboard, in Texas and Colorado.
I have been teaching for over a decade and for Musika for 6 years. I have worked with students of all ages, skill levels and backgrounds. Teaching is my passion; I work with each student to reach his/her individual goals.
A large variety of methods including: Hal Leonard Faber Suzuki Music For Little Mozarts Each lesson plan is catered to the indivdual. The materials I use depends on what each student desires to learn. I also incorporate supplementary resources to address a vareity of learning styles.
Piano can be fun and rewarding for a person of any age! The best age to begin piano lessons is 6 years old, but I also love working with children between the ages of 3 and 5. With beginners, I focus on planting a strong musical foundation that they can build on for years to come. For those further along in their musical journey, I strive to cater to a student's specific musical needs whether they be improvement in notation reading, technique, interpretation, ear-training, theory, improvisation, or embracing new styles. Mostly, I want my students to have fun learning everything they can about music.
