Hi! My name is Wesley Boone M. and I write, play, and teach music for a living. I love music and I love people. My goal is to inspire you to express yourself and play to the best of your abilities! I have played guitar for over 15 years and sung for even longer. I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, focused in Music Education. I have had the privilege to play in many different ensembles of different genres such as Gospel, Country, Pop, RnB, Blues, and more.
I started teaching guitar when I was in High School to my friends that I met through singing beside and learning music theory in the choir room. Shortly after I graduated from High School and went to college at Western Kentucky University, I was teaching even more people from ages 5 to 90, at WKU and Musician's Pro, a local music store. My goal as your music teacher is to give you courage to express yourself, have a lot of fun, and play music to the best of your ability! I want you to have fun and be able to share the gift of music to everyone around you.
For beginning students I want to establish a strong connection to their ears and hands in order to give them a rock solid foundation that benefits their body and instrument for the long song, known as life. As the students progresses and begins to grasp the basic fundamentals of their instrument and music knowledge we will go over parts of songs or riffs that are appropriate to their skill level. We will build on this slowly, over time, until we can play and record full songs while improving our skill level. As you advance we can learn scales, modes, arpeggios, technique, music theory, interval training, ear training, and more.
I love to see my students and friends have the courage to use their voice and express themselves. Music is a universal language and a gift that is meant to spread joy, love, and connection. Nothing is better than the feeling of being able to share that with other people. As your teacher I will be there to encourage and guide you along as you learn your instrument and voice at your own pace, because everyone is unique and on their own path. After we learn the fundamentals of your instrument we will begin to lean into more complex ideas.
