Bachelor of Music Education, VanderCook College of Music Master of Music, Roosevelt University
2007-Esprit de Corp Award
I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2007, I graduated from Roosevelt University with a Master of Music degree in Saxophone Performance. I don't perform professionally, but I do play in a few community bands throughout the Chicagoland area. In 2004, I graduated from VanderCook College of Music with my Bachelor of Music Education degree. I taught in a few elementary schools, but I like the idea of teaching students on an individual basis.
This is my very first time teaching private lessons, but I promise you that the knowledge that I have for music and the saxophone will be worth your musical needs. I want to make sure the student is having fun making music while in my private lessons. I encourage all of my students that I would teach to practice at least 30 minutes a day. I also encourage my students to join ensembles outside of their school. I like to teach students of all ages.
For beginning students, I like to start them off with the Essential Elements for band method books. Once they progress with those books and grasp the fundamentals, I would introduce to solo literature. For adults, I find out what they are interested in and work my way from there.
I like to see all of my students excited about making music. I would them progress at their own pace and take my time with them. I want to make sure that the goals that I set for my students are met. All in all, I want to make sure that they are having fun.
