I love music and love teaching. I am an experienced musician and song writer. I have toured in bands and have a great variety of experience in different genres of music. I have served as a worship leader and lead guitarist at the Crossing Life Church in Windham, NH, as well as collaborated on several recording projects over the years. I have taught private lessons on and off over the past 10 years by word of mouth referrals. My main objective is to help others find their freedom and unique expression through music.
I started teaching music back in 2010 when a family at my local church asked if I would teach their son. I fell in love with teaching. It was another avenue to share the wonderful experience and gift of music. All of my students have been referred by other students or friends. I like to make lessons fun and interactive while sticking to the foundations. I have learned that it is important to have an individualized and customized approach to each student. Everyone has different learning styles. One of my students has been remained with me over 5 years!
I have used Hal Leonard's Essential Elements to kickstart lessons for beginners. Once the student has a handle on the foundations we build upon that. I like to select achievable goals for the student to instill confidence in their ability as they learn. I have learned to use different resources and materials depending on the age, goals and interests of the student. I keep lessons engaging and fun no matter the ability level. As the student progresses they have more say in what direction we go for song tutorials and materials.
My ultimate goal is to share my passion and love for music and see it spark the same joy in my students. It's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. I tailor and customize my lessons and teaching style to best fit the wants and needs of my students. Acknowledging and encouraging students empowers them to play confidently and grow in skill. I love to see students get to a place where they can start writing and creating their own music.

My grandson Caleb has been meeting with Will for guitar lessons over four years now. During this time, Caleb’s love for playing the guitar has only grown, flourished into a place that brings out expressions from his heart that only playing his music will do at this time. Will has always been kind, friendly and patient with Caleb, especially when Caleb was younger and easily distracted wanting to converse on topics not pertaining to guitar. Will was always so gracious to redirect Caleb and complete a productive lesson. Wills ability to assess and adjust to Caleb’s skills and needs, along with bringing an enthusiasm and passion for music is both authentic and contagious. I highly recommend Will as a guitar teacher! My experience with him, is that he is an excellent teacher and knows how to relate, challenge, and encourage his students to a place of confidence and successfulness on their journey in music!
