I'm committed to nurturing the next generation with the love and joy of music. I earned my Master of Music at the New Jersey city University. During my time there, I participated in the University Choir and several chamber ensembles studying and performing technically advanced pieces. Not simply an incredible pianist, I also has extensive knowledge of Flute performance, all levels of music theory, music history, music composition & arranging, aural skills, and advanced conducting. In addition to my work as an instructor and performer, I serve as music director at two area churches helping to adapt and arrange works for a variety of musical instruments. My students benefit from my expansive knowledge of all things piano and flute and my exhaustive understanding of the scaffolding students must have in order to take their playing to the next level.
have been teaching individual and group lessons to students for more than 10 years. I have extensive solo, chamber, and orchestra performing experience, and have performed as featured soloist in concerts at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
I'm a full-time middle school music teacher and also greatly enjoys teaching private music lessons. I performed as a soloist as well as in a variety of ensembles throughout my life including choirs, vocal ensembles, concert bands, wind ensembles, orchestras, jazz bands, and pit orchestras. I'm also an active participant of Carnegie Hall’s Music Educator’s Workshop. My specialty is solo piano performance, also I have had experience teaching students of all ages, including students with special needs. My goal is to make music learning joyful and frustration free.
My students are taught using The European Method which was developed to train students in the classical principles of musical pedagogy. The teaching method focuses on developing a strong ear for music in the students along with concrete musical abilities based on memory, attention, and practice. Also, most of my students are participated ABRSM exam from Grade 1 to Grade 10. Each grade with a requisite assessment and certification.
My focus is on creating individualized lesson plans that address the students particular interests and needs. With consistent practice at recommended intervals, my carefully designed curriculum prepares students to quickly advance from day one by equipping them with the necessary tools and scaffolding to build a comprehensive understanding of the piano. In addition to learning note-reading, rhythm interpretation, and proper technique, students are exposed to theory, aural training, music appreciation, and collaborative courses with peers to help cultivate an immersive environment in which to thrive. Lessons are still tailored to individuals' unique learning needs, and repertoire remains flexible so that students are able to learn music which interests them, however the core content and benchmarks have been standardized to ensure fast and steady progress for students of all ages and skill levels.
