Over 15 years of teaching experience (including being a professor of a music academy), touring, performing at major venues and festivals, recording and leading my own projects. I employ healthy and efficient practicing and teaching technique through relaxation, gradual learning and individual approach. The lessons may also include theory, analysis, basic or advanced composition and many other aspects depending on the student's needs and abilities. The main goal is that my students are able to get fully engaged in the process of learning and enjoy every minute of it!
For beginners, I normally start with simple melodies and exercises. Scales and tunes can be added at a certain point. From early on, I also focus on ear training - the essential part of music learning - so a student gradually learns to hear what he/she plays. Sight reading music is also incorporated in the process from early stages. As for adults, I discuss the particular person's interests and goals as well as assess his/her ability level in order to shape the learning process with maximum efficiency. Theory, composition, arrangement and improvisation can be added at any point if desired. Relaxation exercises, efficient, encouraging and fun practicing are the essential parts of my agenda!
My main goal is to enable my students to develop a passion for music! I employ an individual approach for every student according to his/her skills and abilities. Discussing music, listening to a broad range of music are vital elements of my practice. We may talk about composers and performers of different eras and genres, emotional and historical aspects of particular music and I of course encourage students to listen to music at home providing suggestions. In my opinion, a passion can only be developed if music "finds its way" to the student's heart so the student feels the music and is able to express himself/herself through it!
