Musical theatre catalog ranging from Porgy and Bess to The Phantom of the Opera in venues ranging the actors play house in Miami to the Hard rock hotel and casino as well as B.B.Kings blues club. I have opened for many mainstream r&b and soul artist as well. I received my degree from Alabama State University in music business while minoring in music performance through my choral scholarship program. I am all about the live performance and creating the ultimate intimate experience through the art of voice.
EXPERIENCE
I have been giving voice lessons for the past 7 years starting in my undergrad years at Alabama State University. I am all about the live performance, so my ultimate goal is to make the singer comfortable with the stage and the music, finding ways to connect to the music to bring out the correct emotion to capture the audience. Breathing is my main focus because without breath there is no voice no sound. The beginning of my lessons will definitely start with breathing exercises as well as a little cardio to build the muscle of the diaphragm. Stage presence is also everything and maintaining good vocal pitch and keeping the audience engaged are major keys and staying booked in the entertainment industry female musical theater or the recording industry.
METHODS USED
For beginners young adults as well as children, I like to start with the basics simple vocal exercises building up the cardio teaching them how to breathe correctly so when it is actually time to sing songs they have the essentials needed. For intermediate and adult students I like to get an Outlook of who they are, there goals and aspirations long-term and short-terms for their voice and music in general and I use that to develop a personalized lesson based off of the information that they gave me so that I have their they're up most attention and can Ensure the best results from my teachings.
LESSON STYLE
My style of teaching is very fast-paced but depending on the student. I want to keep the student comfortable but focused at the same time on their goal. I'm all about the needs of the student if they feel that they can move forward and prove themselves of it we can move as fast or as slow as they would like as long as the ending results is growth will it be small growth or large growth. I will always keep the students motivated with what positive feedback as well as constructive criticism that can help them really lock-in on their weaknesses to further develop strong vocal cords and diaphragm.
