Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Drums, Bass Guitar, Organ, Synthesizer, Harp, Accordion, Harmonica, Recorder, Lute, Electric Violin, Fiddle, Double Bass, Euphonium, French Horn, Tuba, Piccolo, Mallet Percussion, Orchestral Percussion, Oboe, Bassoon, English Horn, Conga, Latin Percussion, Music, Keyboard, Djembe, Acoustic Guitar
My teaching approach begins by meeting the students where they are in regards to musical capability. We soon push the boundaries of what they think they are capable of and allows them to apply the music theory in real time. A consistent schedule, whether it be during our schedule lesson or a follow up email packet, is the distinctive difference in my lesson plans. This practice regimen should continue long after our scheduled lessons and should be one of many vital keys to your child's future successes. Read More

I taught my first lesson at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and I immediately I was drawn into teaching by the level of enthusiasm, open-mindedness, and desire to improve shown by the student. This student made rapid progress each week, and eventually was offered to go on an international tour with Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp the following year. I continued teaching when I attended the Manhattan School of Music as a graduate student, tutoring undergraduate students there, and once again I was drawn into the rapid progress and enthusiasm of each of the students tutored. For beginner students I like to start away from books and notation and work on sound production and call and response. This is a way to get the ear working and to have some fun with potentially the most daunting part of learning an instrument. Once we have mastered that we move to writen notation and try to match what we have been doing without the book. When a student has progressed towards a good understanding of music notation I will encourage solo repertoire and other projects that are of interest of the students based upon a common goal we have set for our time together. Nothing is more rewarding that seeing one of my students develop a love for music. Therefore, it is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting goals that are realistic and acknowledge when a student has reached a particular goal. This helps the student to become more eager to learn, more willing to spent that time each day practicing. I must know what inspires the student so that I can successfully tailor my teaching, my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More
