For 23 years, I have taught instrumental music in the public schools in New York State, as well as private lessons. Although I teach all styles of music, at lessons, I focus on music of students choice. I have coached numerous rock bands at the local youth center. Growing up in the bustling suburbs of New York City, trumpeter Jon L was introduced to music at a very young age. Originally a classical player Jon began his studies in Nashville, TN where he attended Vanderbilt University. While there Jon found his voice in jazz under the tutelage and support of studio musician and composer Billy Adair. Jon then became a stalwart in the Blair Big Band as well as a huge proponent of the jazz program at the Blair School of Music. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2012 I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and I am a Certified Music Teacher K-12. In 2014 I received my Masters Degree in Jazz Performance. After graduating college I begin to travel around the world performing music as well as performing here in New York leading a Jazz quartet and playing with many other groups performing many different styles of music.
