I learned my fundamentals as a musician from my musician mother who is a vocalist and childhood piano teachers she set me up with from ages 4-12. At the age of 12, I picked up the trombone in the school instrumental program. I continued to play in school bands throughout my education and in high school, I was set up with a private trombone instructor. I began teaching back when I was in high school. I distinctly remember helping the younger trombonists at the grade schools and helping lower classmen as I got older. By the time I was a senior in high school I had several private students and I have been teaching routinely various students ever since. For the beginning student, I begin with the fundamentals of breathing and application to the first tone. I spend the first three to four lessons developing good habits of proper air and tone production. Following this, I begin with using the approved method book that correlates with the instruction that the student is receiving at school. After I first received my Bachelor's Degree from CSU Fullerton, I opted to showcase my original music through distinct outlets.
