For beginners on drums and percussion, I start with basic snare studies and immediately apply those studies to drumset and bells as appropriate.  For more experienced players, I offer more advanced literature on both instruments and demonstrate how create the various sounds and combinations. It is my belief that there are three components to learning and improving at music: skill and technique, musical creativity, and, most importantly, the genuine desire to learn and play music. I go in fresh to any first time lesson and build a plan from there.
