Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Instruments: Trombone, Euphonium
For beginning students, I focus on the very first fundamentals of playing trombone and music which consists of simple music theory and fundamental technique of playing the trombone. Once those fundamentals are introduced and the students shows progression, I will assign etudes and solo repertoire to help improve on musicality and technique. I tend to perform for students in lessons so they can receive a better idea of how to play a specific passage as well as just playing fun pieces to get them excited in lessons. Read More

My particular brand of brass pedagogy has roots that trace back to the Chicago Symphony's legendary Bud Herseth. I believe in the pursuit of mastery of many of the basic techniques of brass playing - air movement, flexibility, and tone are the most important pieces of what we do as brass players, and I have collected an arsenal of exercises to build skill in these areas. I use a collection of techniques from a wide range of trumpet players from Ray Mase to Allen Vizzutti to Michael Sachs and will use these approaches to define musical outlook and technique. Read More

Having a comfortable, supportive environment for private lessons is very important to me. Nothing is worse than being scared of your private instructor! I like to create a warm environment for my students where they feel safe taking musical risks. I definitely believe in goal setting with my students. Knowing things that they would like to accomplish in one lesson, 4 lessons, 8 lessons etc. is a great way to keep students motivated. Read More
