I am very familiar with all of the standard piano methods, and will evaluate the student in the first few lessons to choose a method that they will be the most comfortable with. I supplement all lessons with music theory and outside repertoire, allowing the students to choose from their favorite genres/artists. For theatre, musical theatre, and vocal coaching, I also employ Linklater and Alexander techniques. I also really enjoy exposing students to styles, genres or artists that they might not be familiar with along with the history behind the music they're learning! Read More

Each and every one of his notes however, voiced the essence of Mozart's unique cognition and personal emotions. Which brings to consideration the ability to understand or to be "in tune" with another person's music. How amazing is the event of two (or many, many more) independent musical voices finding a way to exist and merge into one at the exact same time and place? This is perfect harmony. The closer detail as to which type of brass pedagogy I employ is as follows. Correcting posture nearly goes here without saying, as does the simple good habits one needs to take care of their horn. Long tones are an immediate must to introduce, whether looking upon sheet music or not. Pertaining to beginners' method books, I am an equal proponent for both the Hal Leonard and Rubank's series. Both seem to encompass every beneficial gradient of difficulty level. Read More

My teaching styles revolves around the student and his/her needs. But above all, I love to see the joy of music speak through the students own earned skill through hard work. Achieving goals, and succeeding is the platform for building confidence and gaining great joy from the learning and playing of music. All students will be required to learn scales, etudes, solos, and other repertoire to bolster his/her musical goals abilities; but beyond that, I open to what the student wants learn, and what he/she is able to bring to the table. Instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn
I always vary my teaching methods to accomodate each of my student's needs. However, my lesson format stays fundamentally the same. I always begin with some mouthpiece buzzing, which incorporates ear-training, then move to rhythm exercises, scales and technical studies, method book, and any other music the student is working on at the time. Most beginning students will start out with Book 1 of a standard method book; I recommend the Standard of Excellence series. Read More
