I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2014, I graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelors of Music Education. Performing all over the country has been one of the greater music experiences of my life as a musician. Although my primary instrument is on euphonium, I am also very skilled on trombone, tuba, trumpet and saxophone. I currently reside in Norfolk with my wife Michaela, my dog Jesse as well as my cat Fitz. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

For example, trumpet players will use the Arban's book and trombone players will use the Bordogni book. Read More

It is important to have honest positive communication about the students progress, always focusing on the positive. When working with young students it is necessary to set an example musically, professionally, and personally as well. Read More
Instruments: Trombone, Euphonium
From the beginning of my musical career I have combined performing and teaching as two sides of the same coin. As trombonist in America's first full time brass chamber ensemble (Annapolis Brass Quintet), I toured and recorded internationally and taught private lessons and chamber ensembles around the world. Early on, it became apparent that my love of teaching rivaled that of performing, and I have a special affinity for teaching younger students, because the learning curve is so much steeper and faster!
