For younger students I like to take short breaks in the lesson and play music of various genres from my tablet to get them interested in trumpet and enjoy the sound of how it fits in with different genres of music. I first started teaching and helping run brass sectionals at some local schools in 2004, but did not start teaching regualarly until I completed my degree in 2011. I find that young musicians make the most progress when playing for and with other people. I aim to make lessons fun and engaging and put a strong emphasis on playing duets.
