I graduated with my Bachelors of Music from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. I am currently finishing his Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Lenoir-Rhyne as well. While at Lenoir-Rhyne I was involved in a various amount of ensembles, including the newly reformed Spirit of LR Marching Band where I was the Head Drum Major for three years. I started studying music at a very early age. When I was four years old, I started taking organ lessons, followed by piano when I was 7 years old. Most teachers use a Hal Leonard beginning book. Essential Elements (EE) is popular, as well as Accent on Achievement. I'll be using EE for beginners. I drill ear training, and will have the student memorize simple songs to beginning not only increasing their repertoire, but a fun way of practicing scales. I'm a young teacher who loves working with students and instilling my passion of music in them.
