Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I hope to instill a joy and passion for music in my students. Through our work on fundamentals and etudes they will learn the skills they need to truly express themselves when they perform. I always try to ask the student what the scene of a movie would be if they are playing the soundtrack, and get them to convey that when they play. Back in 2018, I was in some practicum classes through Trinity University. I got to see how it was to be a music teacher and felt a calling more so than when I decided to major in music education back in high school. Then 2 years later in 2020, right before COVID hit worldwide, I got to continue observations in north Austin through the Texas Teachers Alternative Certification Program. For beginning students, I normally start with Essential Elements then move onto Schlossberg and Irons for tone and flexibility; then I start them on the Clarke studies 1st and 2nd studies. I emphasize finger exercises, flexibility, tone, and sight reading. Once the student is advanced enough I start teaching appropriate literature. For adults, I assess their level, and adjust to them, as well as introduce more difficult exercises and literature for them. Read More

I believe in learning the fundamentals but I believe that experience should be enjoyable. That's why we "play" music in the first place! This can mean different things to different students but a focus on positive reinforcement and encouragement toward specific musical goals will always be the guiding factor in my approach.
