Like most trumpet teachers, I introduce the Arban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet, an everything-you-need-to-know book that the student will use throughout their trumpet playing career. However, I also incorporate a variety of other method, solo, and duet books throughout lessons with an intent of maintaining variety, both of material and the methods that the material presents. In my horn teaching I stress embouchure and breathing fundamentals as a solid foundation for playing. With school-age students I assist with school concert music in addition to separate lesson materials. I enjoy collaborating with my students to achieve their musical goals in a positive way. I encourage my students to find their own voice and adapt lessons to meet their own needs. With a personalized music learning program, I can create attainable steps towards achievement that are developmentally appropriate for each student. In addition, I want to make learning fun so each lesson is specialized to students’ interests. I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. Our mission was to put music programs in schools that couldn't afford them on their own, particularly in urban areas around Walnut Hills. Read More

Outside of school, he has performed in the River Cities Jazz Ensemble, Tommy Money Big Band, Huntington Outdoor Theater, Big Planet Soul, and with many other groups and ensembles.
