Once the student's level is known (beginners-advance, children-adults), not just playing and or singing ability, but their knowledge of theory, the names of the lines and spaces, the value of notes and rests, the names of the major clefs (treble and bass), etc., then we will better know what method books to engage a student in. Typically when I begin with children I incorporate the Hoffman Method and Books such as the Little Mozarts books, Alfred, Faber and Master Theory. I allow for children to learn fundamentals in a fun way so they can begin to read music and perform if they are interested. Students get to learn the basics like Mary had a little lamb, hot cross buns, jingle bells, and other fun tunes. I am a dedicated and loyal educator who loves to teach and motive his students. Music is my love, teaching and educating is my passion. I graduate from Morgan State University with a Bachelors in Music (Trumpet Voice) and Education. I've had the opportunity to study with Wynton Marsalis and Langston Fitzgerald of the Baltimore Symphony.
