I have been teaching since 2010. I taught General Music for K - 6th grade students, choir and private lessons for keyboard. Later in 2012 - 2019, I taught grades 3rd - 8th grade and band / choir after school. I taught private lesson to beginner brass students teaching the basic fundamentals. Throughout my time here, I solidified my teaching skills through my learning in person and online due to the pandemic. It was very hard to complete the degree but I ended up being the first student in my class to officially pass the oral thesis and attain the degree. Through my educational and teaching experiences, I have learned a variety of rehearsal techniques and assessments that benefit student learning, as well as completed advanced/supplementary classes in conducting, all secondary instruments, and technology in music.  I taught at a local school district in Dallas and throughout my teaching years, I had great success by placing students in All Region bands and orchestras.  And a great success by having my studnets score division one ratings in the UIL solo and esnemble contests. I began teaching trumpet when I was a high school student. My students were middle school aged peers within my school district that needed additional guidance. While in college, I maintained two dozen or so students within my own private studio. Some of these students were non-music majors that were given to me by my own voice professor. My primary instrument is the human voice. A complicated yet versatile instrument that is unique in every person, and as such should be treated with specific pedagogical methods that best suit a student's age, skill level, and learning style.
