I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students to share my love of music. I am originally from Sitka, Alaska, and in 2013 I graduated from Saint Mary's College of California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Over the past thirteen years, I have taught nearly 400 students - beginning as a junior in high school with four pianists. My teaching experiences have ranged from group lessons with fourth-grade, beginner clarinetists and saxophonists, to starting brand new five-year old pianists, to preparing high schoolers for competitive auditions and performances, to substitute lessons with adults. I actively seek to have my students play for people whenever they can (i.e. church, family gatherings), and I seek out and arrange more formal and organized events such as recitals or visiting the elderly and performing at retirement villages and nursing homes. Since then, I have taught and met with dozens of students, and helped them flourish as musicians, teaching both as a partner in local schools and out of my own home. Teaching music is my life's passion. I followed that passion to earning a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Evansville in 2011. Since then I have been teaching students of all ages and levels. Since earning my degree I have performed on stages across the country in pit orchestras, bands, choirs, opera performances and as a solo artist on various instruments including the voice.
