Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For beginners, I typically begin out of a method book, but I also use studies and etudes that I have developed on my own in the course of my teaching career. For all ages I like to begin with a skills test. Where they show me where they currently stand with their instrument. From there I refer to books by Trevor Wye to give students a strong fundamental basis in tone, technique, articulation, intonation/vibrato, and breathing/scales. From there the lessons would be tailored to where the student wants to go with their learning.
