I have been a K-12 teacher at Lake County School District #7 in Oregon. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Music Education at The University of Akron. I studied Clarinet as my main instrument, then piano, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and more. For trumpet and trombone, I focus on helping the student to develop a consistent warm-up routine and practice routine. I use my own hybrid method that is based on the classic trumpet repertoire, including Arban, Clark, Stamp, Ba-Lin, and Schlossberg. I use my own hybrid because it is simple, effective, and accessible for students of all ages. In 4th grade I got a recorder and from then on I've soaked up all the music experiences around me. I fondly remember my first solo performance was 5th grade, and my first honor band was that summer. By my senior year of high school I had been involved in a couple dozen honor bands/choirs/orchestras including an amazing tour of Europe in a 200 person band! During my time there, I also self-recorded and produced my first three full length albums as well as Elizabeth Boaz's album "Forgiving the Rain." As a trumpet player, I was a member of the Seattle Chinese Orchestra for three years and the Seattle-based band Dismal Thinkings. Following graduation, I moved to Petaluma to quarantine, teach music lessons, and work on musical projects with my duo Honey Disposition.
