I try to teach the same way that I live my life, fun and happy. I want to make sure that the student grows in ability and passion for their instrument while progressing at their own pace and making sure that they grow and have realistic goals for where they are at that time of the lesson. I love to get to know the student and make sure that they are acknowledged for all the good work that they get through making sure that they have drive for their learning and keep wanting to learn to better themselves and be the best player that they can possibly be. My teaching experience started during my Undergraduate studies in Purchase, New York. I had the opportunity to travel to a local elementary school and perform a chamber music masterclass for all of the brass players with several other brass students from the conservatory. We created workshops for young brass students to actively participate in and answered questions along the way. This experience is what initially opened my eyes to the beauty of teaching music. In 4th grade I got a recorder and from then on I've soaked up all the music experiences around me. I fondly remember my first solo performance was 5th grade, and my first honor band was that summer. By my senior year of high school I had been involved in a couple dozen honor bands/choirs/orchestras including an amazing tour of Europe in a 200 person band!
