For students at the beginning and intermediate levels on all instruments I use the Rubank Method alongside appropriate solo literature for their ability level. It is a succinct, affordable resource that will not leave a student lacking. When I teach any advanced brass player I use Arbans conservatory method, Clarke Technical Studies, and the brass gym. I focus beginning students the value of good air support and aim to get them the best tone possible. From there, I get them playing songs that they recognize, teaching both by ear and with a method book. My teaching experience dates all the way back to my high school days when I gave trumpet lessons to some younger family members.  I expanded to giving trumpet lessons to adults and youth during my undergraduate days at The University of Akron.  When I started graduate school there, I began teaching voice lessons, composition and arranging lessons, and conducting lessons.  I also have experience teaching in group and classroom settings for college and high school aged students.
