I've been teaching from as early as middle school. I had my first two bassoon students in middle school. Throughout high school I was a teachers assistant to my band and choir directors and frequently led sectionals, class activities or solo lessons. Before beginning teaching I was a stay at home dad for a number of years until my two kids were in school full time. In 1994 I graduated with my Bachelors in Music Education from Syracuse University, and continued my studies with a Masters of Science in Music Education and Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation. Through my career, i've taught music at all levels, from elementary music classes to middle and high school band, and even orchestra. I wasn't a teacher then, but I did help out with my fellow musicians on some of the basics that they couldn't understand from the teachers. Since then, I occasionally helped out with fellow musicians with their music on advice and teaching.
