I've had over nine years of trumpet playing experience, three years of euphonium/baritone experience, and four years of tuba experience. I've taught many students in a formal and informal setting, from one on one sessions to group sessions ranging from two to eight students. It was more of an epiphany than a gradual choice which saw me take on the career of a musician. From a young age and onward, I always maintained an affinity and constant desire for music. In all this time nothing has ever proved so gratifying. No doubt I have various instructors to thank for this love, along with their respective academic institutions. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonards Essential Elements book, as well a basic understanding of music. Once the student has progressed to have a nice grasp of the fundamentals of music, I usually begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.
